About the aircraft
The ASW-15 is a standard class glider designed by Gerhard Waibel and produced by Alexander Schleicher in Germany from 1968. It was one of the first fiberglass gliders in its class and marked a significant step forward from the wooden sailplanes that preceded it. The ASW-15 earned a strong competition record and helped establish Schleicher as a leading manufacturer of high-performance sailplanes.
